I've gotten a request to post my spreadsheet of all merc counters, so here it is:
Attachment:
MA All Merc Counters Spreadsheet.PNG
MA All Merc Counters Spreadsheet.PNG [ 157.52 KiB | Viewed 2391 times ]

Examples
-Raider "hardcounters" Sniper, since it does bonus damage to light and psionic, while Sniper has both light and psionic tags.

-Raider "softcounters" Goliath, since it does bonus damage to light, while Goliath has the light tag.

-Mutalisk "anti-counters" crackling, since it does less damage to light, while crackling has the light tag.

Spoiler:
Air complicates things since there are 7 tags but only 4 air mercs.
This creates one duplicate tag (or leaves out 3), no matter how you assign types/bonus damage.

I'm interested in how Hydralisks fit into the fray here. They are the only T2 unit that seems to be viable until and through mid-game without morphing, especially with an offensive hero like Festor/HT.

I'm confused how this chart works. It says voids and mutas are the hc to lancer? Lol. But isn't that suppose to be wraiths. And Goliaths say they are countered by wraith.

Interesting point, gardul. I know in the past, there were players who stayed on hydra tech for the whole game - but I'm pretty sure this was either nerfed or shown to be nonviable.

Sexy you're reading it backwards :P
Lancer counters void/muta, and gol counters wraith.

After a certain point they definitely fall back, no doubt.

However, I should point out that Stalkers can barely hold their own against T1, same with roaches, and Firebats. Those units are just not even worth buying unless you're going to morph them, but Hydras are in this weird spot where they spawn just fast enough to keep your army whole, are meaty enough to tank most T1 encounters, and with the right upgrades (and a DPS hero), they can last through the 30 minute mark without losing too much ground to T3 units.

Might be worth a look, but lower priority since they certainly are not a broken item, and not overly exploited either.

SOOOOO glad to have an active Dev on this game again!

Active dev vs akash being dev, difference is akash listens to people and discusses instead of pulling a relic and just doing whatevs.
