Probably shouldn't advertise it. Might be best if you hide this these mod

Sorry, I messed it up while working on HT archon's attack. I fixed it, but we will have to wait for Josin to publish - hopefully he can do it asap

Damn, what the hell is taking Josin so long to get that published?! If he doesn't have time to occasionally respond, he should just give you full control.

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. The main map is published on his account, so it would require giving out his battle.net password (which is bad, for obvious reasons).

There's also no feature to transfer the map directly to someone else's account - the new owner would have to publish and the old map would have to be taken down, but all the hours played/reviews/ratings would be lost as well. This means the map would be taken off of top played, and essentially start from the bottom.

So, the only real way for us to do it atm is for me to make my changes, send the map file to Josin, and have him publish to the main map. I can only publish to my own testmap.

We have had publisher switches in the past, and it took forever for the map to get back up to its rightful place in the top10. But this was when we had an army of people on the forums to keep playing and rating the map. Idk how it would work out if we tried it now.

eu did this. if you change the loadingscreen to say that they should play on the other map they will go there more and more. and we had 2 maps fighting for players with one map trying to get people to play theirs instead of the intended one but it still worked out so i think it will work quite well here

That's a good point, and the "top played algorithm" may even be different now than it was before.

I still remember how a group of like 10 of us got Whirlwind's Zombie Hell Alpha map into the top 10, just by constantly replaying over the course of a few weeks lol - it was even ahead of MA at one point.

Ultimately though, it's up to Josin whether we even want to try switching. Another idea is that I could buy another sc2 account that is purely for publishing the map, and share the password between devs. That way, we never have to worry about this kind of switch in the future.

Good idea! That solves pretty much all potential concerns I can think of.
