Marine Arena is won with good strategy, micro, and teamwork. I am writing this for the purpose of sharing some of my favorite strategies that I have gathered over the years of playing. I will address a little bit of micro and teamwork (that’s hard to do though since most of that just comes with experience and practice), but this is mostly a strategy guide.

I have been playing MA for years (anyone remember when the nix was basically a carrier hero?)
Over 750+ games.

Anyways, I’ll be writing up some of my favorite strategies in different posts over the next few days and posting the links here for an easy access to anyone that wants to pick them apart. And feel free to pick them apart, honestly. Post what you would do different, what sucks about my strategies, or what makes them good. What are counters you would use that I didn’t think of.

Lastly, this is kind of my goodbye to MA, for a while at least. I'm sure I'll be around here and there, but a game should be played to be enjoyed and if you’re going to waste time blowing off steam on a game that starts making you mad when you have a “bad game” then it’s time to throw in the towel for a while and enjoy other ways to unwind.

If you have a strategy you want me to address feel free to put a request in, though I reckon almost everyone on the forum that is a poster and not a lurker knows these strategies and could care less This is meant for the average or advanced MA’er who wants to up there game some or try something different.

Hi MatPat, welcome to the forums! It's great that you're doing this; we mostly discuss balance, and I don't think anyone has written updated strategy guides in quite a while. Really liked the lancer guide, and I can't wait to see more

Also only 750 games in years, so clearly he doesnt play as much as some with 80%+.

IMO that gives him more weight, hes like you, he didnt take 3000 games to get good.

Made a few edits to make the guides more relevant with recent patches.

If anyone wants to write a comprehensive guide for Intermediate or Advanced techniques I will gladly labor the rest of putting it together for the two unopened slots for how-to-play.php

I do not want to put in a bunch of individual if you play this unit do this type but if you can come up with a more generalized guide that can encompass everything I would gladly use it.
