I call on you fine gentlemen (and ladies?) to help show the noobs the ropes. I've made an effort to teach the basics whenever I play with them, and I see a lot of them coming back.

At the very least, try not to be a giant throbbing dick to them. You know who you are.

It usually goes something like this "hurry up and pick your merc" " don't attack my rocks, get your side!" "control the tower" "stop changing your merc so much" "don't attack on the ramp when they can surround you" "stop making different heroes" "stop feeding red"

All this is usually responded with "fuck you bro" lol.

yea there is a difference between sounding controlling and sounding helpful and it can easily get you a "f you" if you come off wrong. course some people just simply don't care either way.

Usually it's more like:
"Hi, are you a new player?"
"yes"
"Sweet, if you have any questions just ask"
"ok" [usually followed by at least 1 question]
[answer questions]
"mind if I give you some tips as you play?"
"ok"
[give tips while you play]
examples:
-"hey, can you get your tower? *ping*"
-"please don't follow right behind me since I can't retreat if you do"
-"a good merc/hero choice right now would be [x merc/hero] because [y reason]"
-"nice job trapping him" or "good decision to back away that time"
-etc.

It's a usually a sign that you're doing it right if they ask more questions :D

Lololol this is really accurate. But the thing that gets me so pissed is when they attack my rocks and follow me to my tower.

Leddy hahaha

It's a survival of the fitest game. If they can't figure it out then I say they uninstall sc2. And then have them reinstall and ask akash to teach them lol

A couple of pet-peeves which are hard to convey without frustration:

1) A-moving their army right behind yours, effectively blocking you from any retreat
2) Waiting until maximum supply before moving out of base - ALL GAME

Everything else is easty to handle and deal with. Loved the other responses in this thread though. They made me laugh.

Holy shit this is so painfully true jesus. All that stuff people on their first/second game do, taking your rocks etc, and then people with like 50 games who just walk up behind you and block all your shit...

AHHHHHHHHHH.
